Determination of the optimal coverage for heavy-duty-axle gears in shot peening

چکیده
Pitting and wear often appear on heavy-duty-axle gears due to their harsh working conditions, such as high torques, loads, poor lubrication. Shot peening is a popular surface strengthening method for gears. In order ensure complete coverage during shot peening, 100~200% usually prescribed most However, it difficult effectively improve the contact fatigue resistance of Generally, increasing can heighten compressive residual stress prolonging service lifetime gears, whereas levels may cause deterioration roughness, thus noise vibration To address this issue, paper deals with determination optimal by experimental tests. The influence integrity analyzed in terms stress, microhardness, morphology, microstructure. results show that maximum increases first then keeps stable increase coverage, value − 1172.10 MPa. microhardness peak obviously beginning slowly rises 747.5 HV1.0. roughness (Ra) decreases initially enhances minimum 0.99 μm under 1000%. crystallite size be refined from 36.88 28.79 nm peening. dislocation density 3.70 × 1016 m−2. Numerous damages (microscalings, spallings) occur treated gear tooth flank affecting distribution levels. Meanwhile, behavior steels investigated, test 1000% lead better resistance. Taking into consideration results,

Light Reflection Model of Pixel-based Surface Patch for Shot Peening Coverage Estimation
Nowadays, we need to efficiently control key parameters of the shot-peening process such as shot size, energy and peening angle, to ensure a positive and optimum effect on fatigue life. A good way to help us in adjustment of these parameters is to observe the resulting coverage after peening. Manual measurement and control of peening coverage – which consist of a visual inspection step by an op...
متن کاملdetermination of maximal singularity free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulator
due to the limiting workspace of parallel manipulator and regarding to finding the trajectory planning of singularity free at workspace is difficult, so finding a best solution that can develop a technique to determine the singularity-free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulators is highly important. in this thesis a simple and new technique are presented to determine the maximal singula...
15 صفحه اولSide Effects of Shot Peening on Fatigue Crack Initiation Life
Shot peening beneficial effects on fatigue life of mechanical components are well known. However, there are some reports in the literature that indicate inappropriate shot peening parameters tend to reduce the fatigue life. It is therefore, the purpose of this study to find a logical quantitative justification for these observations. Using finite element method, a dynamic elastic-plastic simula...
متن کاملStudy and Application of Acoustic Emission Testing in Fault Diagnosis of Low-Speed Heavy-Duty Gears
Most present studies on the acoustic emission signals of rotating machinery are experiment-oriented, while few of them involve on-spot applications. In this study, a method of redundant second generation wavelet transform based on the principle of interpolated subdivision was developed. With this method, subdivision was not needed during the decomposition. The lengths of approximation signals a...
